Bonding
The first few days and weeks
Yes it was sore in the first week. Surely no one has sucked as much and as often on my breast / nipples! They need to toughen up first! That can be painful - no pain no game!
Also they feed a lot. And fall asleep while drinking :) but who wouldn't fall asleep on a warm skin to skin contact with their momies, the yummy milk, the breath the can feel the heartbeat beating in a lovely rhythm. This must be like heaven for a baby. There is nothing else that can and will ever beat or fake this as good as the real mom!
then there are all these advantages too! The bonding is so important for later in life! the first two years are the most important of your life and these are the years that shape you! That's what makes you - you!
it's like starting the constructing from scratch. everything else or what comes after just builds up and gives directions.
But the network in the brain like the framework of the building - that's what happens in the first two years and bonding and building up a trust and security will last forever!
